Jackie Cooper, best known to Superman fans as Perry White from the Christopher Reeve "Superman" films, died yesterday aged 88.
Born in Los Angeles on September 15, 1922, Cooper was an actor for most of his life, first nominated for an Oscar at the age of 9.
He passed away at a hospital in Beverly Hills after a sudden bout with illness.
